Sujata RamnarayanSujata Ramnarayan, Ph.D., a former Gartner Group Senior Analyst and a former Assistant Professor of Marketing, currently provides Research, Advisory, Speaking, and Training services as a Marketing Strategy/Research Consultant through her company SMStrat.

Dr. Ramnarayan is an innovative, analytical, and results-driven marketing professional with combined experience as a practitioner and academic. Dr.Ramnarayan’s focus is on deriving data driven business insights using both unstructured (social) and structured (website analytics data) to drive business related decisions to improve marketing performance.

In addition to managing her work as a consultant, Dr. Ramnarayan has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations such as Career Closet, a non-profit serving under-privileged women and on the board of the Silicon Valley American Marketing Association as its V.P.of Digital Marketing.

Dr. Ramnarayan’s most recent articles have been published at MarketingProfs.com and the Marketing Management Magazine. These articles led to her writing the just authored book on Social Media Strategy titled Marketing in a World of Digital Sharing, which has received favorable reviews.

Sujata has a B.S. in Math from the University of Delhi, an M.B.A. from Kansas State University, and a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Oregon.

In her spare time, she likes running and hiking.  She is a regular runner at the yearly San Francisco Half Marathon.
